Health Update
Dear 100 Elk community,
The summer is around the corner which means we are gearing up for our upcoming fall 100 Elk Outdoor Center season. This planning includes thinking about how best to ensure the health and safety of our participants and staff as the coronavirus, COVID-19, continues to be a large focus for the greater community and world. We’d like to provide an update on our operations and plan, as we look forward to welcoming you this fall.
100 Elk Outdoor Center is taking all proper steps to anticipate the needs of our schools and families, and put in place the recommended practices and appropriate resources to ensure a happy and healthy experience with us. These steps include:
- Following recommended practices of: good hand-washing; sanitizing cabins and community spaces thoroughly and often, doubling what had been done before; ensuring a high level of cleanliness; and reducing exposure by minimizing personal contact and increasing social distance between people.
- Programmatically we are utilizing hand sanitizer several times throughout the day; providing hand washing stations at many new locations; asking participants to bring and wear gloves for appropriate activities; and requesting those who are ill not to come and participate in the program until healthy.
- Closely monitoring updates and alerts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Colorado state health entities, Chaffee County health regulations, and the U.S. State Department travel advisories and following any necessary recommendations, plus acting on any new information as it becomes available.
- Preparing contingency response plans and working with schools to address and allay concerns.
While we are currently moving ahead with all of our programs, should any of our programs be postponed on our account due to new information, we will be in touch immediately and work with you to reschedule for a future time.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Brooke Morehardt
100 Elk Director
