The ropes course has two levels (a medium and high course) as well as a zip line. All ropes course activities are facilitated by certified 100 Elk instructors and include a safety talk, tour of the course, instruction, gear and 1 to 2 hours in the course. While this is an individual activity, the participant receives support from the staff and group on the ground who serve as part of the belay team. For many of our participants, this is an opportunity to gain self-confidence in their abilities and decision-making as well as to learn to trust the equipment and team below. The Leap of Faith is usually combined with our Giant\u2019s Ladder and low ropes course for a full (3.5-hour) rotation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"su-row\">\n<div class=\"su-column su-column-size-1-4\"><div class=\"su-column-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-591 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/100elk.org\/outdoor-ed\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/02\/Giants-Ladder-1-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/100elk.org\/outdoor-ed\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/02\/Giants-Ladder-1-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/100elk.org\/outdoor-ed\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/02\/Giants-Ladder-1.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><br \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-column su-column-size-3-4\"><div class=\"su-column-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n<h3>Giant&#8217;s Ladder<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Giant\u2019s Ladder is a stand-alone high element that challenges participants to work together to climb up a large, suspended ladder. The element, suspended on cables between two large trees, requires participants (on belay) to work with each other to set a goal and work toward climbing as far as they can together. The rungs get farther apart and more difficult to climb as they work to achieve their goal \u2013 providing a unique opportunity to practice trust, balance and cooperation. The facility includes a bouldering wall with a loft on top for hanging out, four top ropes, three auto-belay systems and padded, carpeted floor for comfortable landings. Professional route setters change routes annually. Rock gym rotations led by 100 Elk staff include climbing gear, safety instruction, warm-up bouldering activities, and time for free climbing on top ropes and auto-belays. The rock gym is also a popular evening activity, combined with our gaga pit upstairs in Wyly.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"su-row\">\n<div class=\"su-column su-column-size-1-4\"><div class=\"su-column-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-598 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/100elk.org\/outdoor-ed\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/02\/Ralynes-Rock-2-1-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/100elk.org\/outdoor-ed\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/02\/Ralynes-Rock-2-1-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/100elk.org\/outdoor-ed\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/02\/Ralynes-Rock-2-1.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><br \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-column su-column-size-3-4\"><div class=\"su-column-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n<h3>Rock Tower (Ralyne\u2019s Rocks)<\/h3>\n<p>Located at Round-Up Ranch, the rock tower is a 35-ft-tall simulated-rock structure with a variety of climbs including four top ropes and one auto-belay system. The routes range from beginner-intermediate to difficult. Adjacent to the rock tower is a 10-foot bouldering rock, ideal for all levels of climbers. The rock tower is offered as an optional activity during rec time for groups before dinner and can be incorporated as a half or full rotation, depending upon the size of the group.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"su-row\">\n<div class=\"su-column su-column-size-1-4\"><div class=\"su-column-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-587 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/100elk.org\/outdoor-ed\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/02\/Archery-arrows-1-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/100elk.org\/outdoor-ed\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/02\/Archery-arrows-1-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/100elk.org\/outdoor-ed\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/02\/Archery-arrows-1.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><br \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-column su-column-size-3-4\"><div class=\"su-column-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n<h3>Archery<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Learn the basic techniques of archery and have the opportunity to practice your skills. 100 Elk has several bow options for participants including recurve, compound and traditional archery bows. Our range has three main bulls-eye targets at varying distances, as well as several movable targets for beginner and advanced archers. Our courses, taught by 100 Elk instructors, allow participants above the age of 10 to practice shooting in a safe and fun environment.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"su-row\">\n<div class=\"su-column su-column-size-1-4\"><div class=\"su-column-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-595 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/100elk.org\/outdoor-ed\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/02\/Horseback-riding-1-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/100elk.org\/outdoor-ed\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/02\/Horseback-riding-1-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/100elk.org\/outdoor-ed\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/02\/Horseback-riding-1.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><br \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-column su-column-size-3-4\"><div class=\"su-column-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n<h3>Horseback Riding<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">100 Elk welcomes participants of all riding levels. Learn how to prepare for a ride, saddling procedures, commands, general horse behavior, grooming and trail etiquette. Whether you\u2019re a beginner or a pro, learning the fundamentals of horsemanship and working with your horse teaches you valuable lessons about communication and teamwork. Our corral staff offers sessions on basic and advanced skills, trail rides and arena work. Beginner sessions typically last a full rotation and include a trail ride and Horse 101 session.<br \/>\n<strong>Note:<\/strong> There is an extra cost.
