Welcome to 100 Elk Outdoor Center, where the mountains are your classroom! We are just north of Buena Vista in the Upper Arkansas River Valley, nestled between the Mosquito Mountain Range and the Collegiate Peaks of the Sawatch Range. The Outdoor Center is up at about 9000 feet in the forested foothills just below Mt. Yale and Mt. Columbia (both 14,000 foot peaks). Click here to download the pdf version of this map. Each season brings unique changes to the 1,100 acres of 100 Elk property. Autumn paints the aspens brilliant yellows and reds, and calls the elk down from the high country to the plains. One can often see large herds of elk, antelope and deer grazing in our lower grasslands. In the spring, falling snow mixed with clear, warm days are standard. Come prepared with shorts and snow pants! 100 Elk Outdoor Center is located only 110 miles from Denver (west on I-70 and south on Hwy 24), and 90 miles from Colorado Springs (north on Hwy 24).
